Mathieu Ruiz is Data Analytics Director at Funcom, where he has been building and scaling analytics capabilities since 2022 across Conan Exiles, Dune Awakening, and Aloft. With a background in biology and a PhD in cognitive sciences, he brings academic methods to pragmatic industry challenges, helping teams better understand player behavior and make data-informed decisions.
Prior to Funcom, he spent five years at Square Enix in London, contributing to analytics across a dozen European and Japanese titles while helping structure data practices and platforms across teams. At Funcom, he now focuses on bridging the gap between game development and publishing analytics, developing end-to-end capabilities from telemetry design to delivering actionable insights, and embedding analytics into teams’ day-to-day workflows.
